Heading south..Florianopolis Island
So we've made it to Florianopolis island on Thursday night. We are about 9 hours couth of Sao Paulo. We literally bought plane tickets less than 24 hours before. We struggled with speaking between spanish and some bits of portuguese but finally, finally, we made it to the first youth hostel in the north end of the island in a small town called Canasvieres (wow. I just massacred that spelling.) Anyway, besides not being able to spell the name of the town I also cannot pronounce it. It's got all the strange tonations that you'd expect outta portuguese. We'll just leave it at that. So, people were super nice in helping us find the hostel. Things are more chill in the south. The weather is great! The days consists of hot sun, warmish waters, and super friendly Brazilians and a ton of Argentinians. Apparently, Florianopolis is a huge vaction spot for the Argentineans during the month of carnivale. We spot Argentineans evrywhere here. They, more likely than not, are ALWAYS sporting mullets. Some of the girls even rock the mullet but always the guys...always Argntineans. So, this morning we left Canasvieres (or something like that) and made our way to the mid eastern coast of the island. We are currently in the town called Barra da Lagao. This town is a huge surf spot for Brazilians. The beach is crazy packed with leftover carnivale partiers. There is a huge stage set up on the beach for live samba bands and such acts. And Gen and I are staying at this hostel called The Backpackers Sharehouse. It such an awesome place. We have a full service bar, honor-system food cafeteria, free surfboards, free breakfast! I must admit too that I have never been surrounded by so many good looking people in a hostel before. Gen and I agree that this is intimidating but nothing to worry over cause everyone is so chill. Our room is this amazing private room with a balcony that overlooks the main strip of beach (with the stage and all the people) and river. It is a really beautiful view which I plan to post up a pic soon. promse.

I am glad that you are getting a chance to surf in all the beautiful places. I can't wait to hear about the next part of your trip. xoxo
If you wind up rocking a mullet after the trip I promise to be kind and will try not to laugh. :)
I hope that you keep enjoying heaven.
