Hey everybody!
I hitchhiked my way to Melipeuco early this morning. I got a ride from 3 cars and had to walk at least 10km. I parted ways with Julia as she is hitchhiking to Temuco to meet her Chilean boyfriend. They are going to sell some things there and then hitchhike to Santiago for a huge reggae festival. Good for them. It is really not so easy to get to Melipueco. So emails and bloggings will be sparse. All I can say is that living on a sustainable farm is tough and rough. The living is not always so sanitary also. I got mudd butt the 2nd day of being here. It hit me hard in the middle of the might during a rainstorm in the mountains! I half ran and stumbled outside to the nearest bush to relieve myself! So gross. Anyway, taking a hot shower always take at least 1 hour to prepare. And fetching water to cook is just as time consuming. Also cooking food is always a long long long affair. I dont hat e it though. I really actually love it. It is tough at first...but thats just because i am not use to it. After being here for a week...I have the system down. I wake up early and start a fire , first thing. We make bread and coffee for everyone. After, we work on the farm.... pulling weeds, planting veggies, feeding the animals. After this, we hike somewhere amazing and new...at least to me. Yesterday, Rene took Julia and I to 3 waterfalls and showed us petrified wood (a monkey Puzzle tree cemetary) in a meadow. We collected some to make jewelry out of it. It has a beautiful smooth and polished feel and deep red color on the inside. The day before...was rainy. Think Redwoods forrest in the winter or early spring. It rained all day but was gorgeous the whole time. I have some amzing pics to post! We have two dogs that are protective and watch us. They have 7 lil puppies together too. The pups are very cute small and sweet. They run around your feet and stare up at you with these ridiculously cute puppy eyes. And then you cant help but say, "awwwww!!!!". Anyway, I need to head out because rides back towards Tracura is sparse and few in between.
I hope all is well with everyone!
ciao and much luv!

the pups sound really cute. One of the horses at the ranch just have a foal too! Baby animals are just to cute.
Maumau...you're so hard-core! I'm honored to be your friend.
